Nicole Shimonek
Nicole Shimonek is a visual artist working in new media, installation and performance. Her work focuses on themes of discovery and resolution using animals and personae as her subject matter. Shimonek's video work has screened in curated packages both nationally and internationally and her performances have been shown in solo, street, and collective events. Artist Statement: I am interested in how reality and imagination can operate in tandem. Personal thoughts are interpreted through reflection and illusion, relating to widely held experiences, concerns and desires. My art also explores notions of boundaries; the work has elements of both the macro and micro, being both contractible and expandable.
