Robert Taite

Robert Taite is an inter-media artist based in Winnipeg, Canada. He received a BFA from the University of Manitoba in 2009 and has since been working with painterly-sculptural installations, monochromatic collage, photography and sound. Visually, he is currently most interested in geometrical pattern, repetition and high-contrast juxtaposition with reference to reflecting visual "noise" or "silence". In regards to the medium of sound, Taite has collaborated with musicians, writers and artists (for both performance and exhibition) and is engaged in experimentation, improvisation and composition. He is currently performing and recording in the duo, Dusth. Taite created a public sound installation in 2009 for Send + Receive: V.11 and is actively involved in programming, curatorial projects and technical assistance.
