Somehow I Knew It Was Actually Waiting For Me
1994, Video, 12:05 (Colour Black & White, Channel 2)
Household appliances are metamorphosed into marionettes in a perilous tale of tabloid topics such as UFOs, the Bermuda Triangle and Ghosts. With colourful visuals and a lively soundtrack, this piece uses humour and fantasy to reexamine the myths surrounding these issues and suggests new hypotheses as to their origins. The notion of the traditional marionette is inserted into a contemporary context. Puppetry, an age old form of entertainment, is contemporized through the use of video.
