Introduction speaks to the unfulfilled tease of cinema, rehearsing tropes of the Hollywood trailer to revel in its anticipation and contingency. Crossing screen test with soliloquy, Kirouac recites the now famous introduction to the Lord of the Rings, as read by British actress Cate Blanchett. Her initially faithful recitation grows incoherent as multiple layers become entangled with one another, creating a conceit that verges on the absurd.
