Virtual Reality Workshop with Lesley Klassen

Learn about the world of art and virtual reality.  Explore virtual reality animation creation, VR painting, sculpting, and basic interaction scripting using off the shelf VR art tools you can use today.

Dates: Saturday, April 7th 2018 (12pm-4pm)

About the instructor:

Lesley Klassen has been invited as a guest speaker at Oculus Connect, a Facebook owned developer conference, to share his knowledge of best-practices in user experience and virtual reality design for virtual reality developers. He has been working in the field of virtual reality for 5 years and he has directed, and designed two virtual reality productions and produced12 virtual reality projects.

Intermediate Camera Workshop with Wendy Buelow

During this one evening class, we will explore Video Pool’s newest cameras, the Sony PXW-FS7 and Sony PXW-FS5.

These cameras can capture video in 4K as well as HD, with good slow motion options.   We will go through the deep menus to set the cameras up for hands on practise, and learn about important features such as Cine EI and Custom Shooting Mode.

Dates: Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 (6pm-10pm)

Fees:  $60 member / $80 non-member

Location: Video Pool Studio (300 – 100 Arthur St.)

Limit: 6 Participants

Prerequisite: Experience and basic understanding of the other Video Pool cameras.

About the instructor:

Instructor Wendy Buelow has worked in professional video for many years with CBC and independent documentary projects.  She has taught basic video camera classes at Video Pool over many years of technological change.

Audio Editing for Dancers with Kayla Jeanson

Learn the basics of digital audio editing for performance. This course is designed especially for dance teachers and choreographers looking for a fast, easy, and cheap way to cut and mix music. Software covered includes Audacity and Reaper (free downloads here: Audacity and here: Reaper ). Please bring current projects or ideas, as there will be a hands-on portion of the class.

About the instructor:

Kayla Jeanson is a filmmaker and video producer who specializes in dance-related media, from narrative screendance to documentary work. Her cinematography, editing and directing for videos and television shows has been seen online, internationally at film festivals, as well as through TV networks such as CBC, APTN, and MTS TV. Kayla has been editing audio for dance performances since she was 13 years old, and she is excited to be offering this class once again through Video Pool Media Arts Centre.
